Towing Service Company Keeps Goods Moving in Pittsburgh

Our towing service succeeded where other towing companies attempted but failed. A van was delivering rail employees to a job site when it took a wrong turn and was stuck in a precocious position. As you can see, the van was driving just next to the rail tracks.

When it got stuck, the car was blocking trains from greeting through from one direction. Rail traffic was stopped permanently until McGann & Chester could remedy the situation.

To make matters worse, there were two other variables that made this recovery difficult. First, the van wasn’t stopped on stable ground. Second, the van was elevated many feet above the road. It rested on an elevated track.

This is when the McGann & Chester towing service team put its thinking cap on. We asked the rail company if we could borrow a train for several moments. They agreed. Utilizing a system of pulleys and cables connected to the van and redirected off of the locomotive, the vehicle was recovered. As you can see, we got the job done and overcame a pretty difficult situation.

Details of Towing Service Rescue of Van Near Train Tracks

Our towing service company got a call came in from a rail company to remove a van that had gotten into a difficult situation. The caller described a van that was elevated high above the road next to a track and leaning to the left. The McGann & Chester towing service dispatcher listened to the issues and sent out a tow truck to the site. Our driver drove out to the location. When the towing service technician arrived he assessed the situation. He confirmed that he couldn’t get access to the van from the ground. He also confirmed that the van was in a precarious position. The towing service team consulted with each other. They needed to come up with an unconventional plan as the towing service truck really couldn’t access the van. It was high off the ground. Second, it was leaning in a precarious way. The team consulted the rail company about using an engine for the recovery. The rail company consented so our towing service team went to work They retrieved some pulleys and cables. They attached pulleys and cables to the engine to stabilize the van. This would all for the retrieval. The towing service team connected the pulleys. The towing service team connected the cables. They attached to the van with a a series of towing hooks. Working together, with the tow truck on the ground, They stabilized the van, pulled it up and out of its precarious position. Once the van was on stable ground a member of the towing service team removed the towing hooks and cables. They then put away the hook, pulley anc cables. A member of the towing service team drove the van out of of danger.
